Operation D-Hunt: Kerala Rises Strong Against Drug Menace

One of the most pressing social challenges Kerala faces today is the rampant spread of narcotics. Targeting the youth and infiltrating communities, the drug network poses a serious threat to the social fabric. In response, the state government launched Operation D-Hunt — a mission that is now transforming into a significant success.

This statewide special drive, jointly conducted by the Police and Excise departments, has already led to the arrest of over 7,300 individuals. On just one day — May 6, 2025 — police registered 74 cases and arrested 84 people. Seized from them were banned substances including MDMA, cannabis, and cannabis-laced beedis.

The operation is being led by ADGP (Law & Order) Mr. Majo Abraham. The security network across Kerala has been tightened, and a 24-hour control room (📞 9497927797) has been made available for the public to report suspicious activities or contribute to investigations.

Preliminary raids conducted in March resulted in the confiscation of narcotics worth lakhs of rupees. Alarmingly, several cases involved students and young individuals — highlighting the depth and seriousness of the issue.

This is a time when Kerala must stand united — beyond religion, politics, or community. The mission to build a drug-free Kerala demands collective action, and public cooperation is vital for its success.

🌿 Change begins the moment we acknowledge our failures.Let us all be part of the fight against drugs.
